Have you created code snippets in Expression Web? Recently I had to rebuild the hard drive on my laptop. I had already backed up my entire C Drive BEFORE I installed the new hard drive. Once I finished reinstalling Windows and had the programs reinstalled and working, I realized my code snippets were missing. Could I get them back? YES.
With Windows Vista, browse to Local Disk (C Dive in my case) > Users > User Name > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > Expression > Web 2 (or your version) > Snippets > SnippetsCustom.xml
In Windows XP the Code Snippets are located: Local Disk (C or your Local Drive) > Documents and Settings > User Name > Application Data > Microsoft > Expression > Version Name > Snippets >file-name.xml
In Windows 10 the Code Snippets are located: C:\Users\patge\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Expression\Web 4\mySnippets
Copy your backup file to the same location on the hard drive and you are back in business.
